The 2025 EurILCA Team Racing Championship came to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday in Athens, capping off an exciting and intense series of races.

After a long day of light and variable winds, the top teams were finally determined, and the podium positions were decided after fierce competition.

The inaugural EurILCA Team Racing European Championship came to a thrilling conclusion today in Athens, marking a historic moment in the world of sailing. After a day of light and shifting winds, the top teams were determined, and Italy emerged as the very first champions of this exciting new event.

The action began early, with racing starting at 08:00. Throughout the day, the wind conditions remained light and patchy, with breezes ranging from 1 to 7 knots. These conditions created a challenging environment for the sailors, testing their adaptability and teamwork. The morning session was dedicated to finishing the round-robin qualification, where the top four teams were determined: Sweden 1, Sweden 2, Italy, and Greece.

Following the qualification, all teams returned to shore while the Race Committee calculated the results to determine which teams would progress to the semifinals and finals.

In the first semifinal, Italy faced Sweden 2, with Italy securing a place in the final after a hard-fought and tactical battle. In the second semifinal, Sweden 1 went head-to-head with Greece, and it was Greece who triumphed to advance to the final.

The race for third place saw Sweden 2 win over Sweden 1, earning the bronze medal.

The grand final then took place between Italy and Greece in a spectacular contest for the first-ever EurILCA Team Racing European Championship title. After a tight and strategic race, Italy emerged victorious, becoming the first-ever Team Racing European Champion.

The final standings are as follows:

1st Place: Italy (Inaugural Champions)
2nd Place: Greece
