The LGT Wealth Management Australia Cup kicks off this weekend from the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia.

This weekend five from the TP52 Australia Class, and eight Super 40's will race in the first of two weekends planned on Sydney Harbour and the racing will be continuously broadcast for all to be part of the action.

Fresh off the IRC Division 1, and Boat of the Week win at Hamilton Island Race Week is Marcus Blackmore's Hooligan who will have Katie Spithill on the helm this week.

"It's great to be back on the boat after being on the coach boat for our win at Hamilton Island Race Week," said Spithill. "It's such a special team to be a part of, thanks to Marcus and Caroline who give us all the ability to not only race such an amazing boat, but to be a part of the Hooligan family. Hopefully we can make them proud this weekend, even with the short course format, which we need to sail perfectly to win."

It is projected that the spring event, on Sydney Harbour, will become a key warm-up event for the Australian fleets, with the main summer season ahead. And for the internationals who have already expressed interest, it fits perfectly with their overseas racing seasons as well.

"It should be a great format, fast paced, and also with the Super 40's joining for the first time," Spithill commented. "Looking forward to seeing how this event grows, and of course getting back on the helm!"

The LGT Wealth Management Australia Cup is an extension of the grand prix racing that the TP52 class have been involved with in Australia, with the addition of the Super 40 class. You can watch all of the action live on the TP52 AUS YouTube or TP52 Facebook channels with a continuous broadcast for the entire event.

Thanks to naming rights sponsor LGT Wealth Management for their support of the double header, as well as Zhik and Hancock & Hancock.
