The Antigua Barbuda Yachting and Marina Association (ABYMA) is thrilled to announce the upcoming Discover Yachting and Marine Industry Expo, taking place on October 8th and 9th from 9 AM to 6 PM at the Antigua Yacht Club and Marina. This year's Expo aims to inspire school leavers, tertiary education students, and adults alike to discover how they can enter the industry or who how they can transition into the marine industry using their existing skills.

We are proud to host more than 20 participating businesses that will showcase the diverse range of opportunities available within the industry. President Franklin Braithwaite conveyed the importance of this event, stating, "We would like to dispel the myth that careers in the marine industry mean leaving Antigua and Barbuda. While jobs on board can be in and around Antigua and Barbuda or overseas, many roles require valuable skills such as woodworking, electrical work, plumbing, administration, event planning, and marketing. All of these are essential for the industry to thrive, and they can be pursued right here at home."

Visitors to the Expo will have the chance to receive personalized advice from professionals, both current and past, who have successfully navigated careers in the marine sector. This is an excellent opportunity for attendees to gain insights, referrals, and networking to increase their knowledge and interest in the field.

Additionally, a list of currently available seasonal positions at member organizations will be made accessible to help match participants with potential job opportunities.

We invite everyone to come and enjoy the Expo over the two days, with free entry for all. The bars and restaurants within the yacht club and marina will be open, providing a welcoming atmosphere for visitors to browse, network with exhibitors, and learn more about the multitude of opportunities that exist in the marine industry.

The official opening of the Expo will commence at 9 AM each day, with the ceremonial opening taking place at 10 AM on Wednesday morning at the Antigua Yacht Club Marina.

The Expo ends at 6 PM both days.
