Southport Yacht Club's flagship event, The Yacht Sales Co Sail Paradise 2025, officially set sail today under picture-perfect Gold Coast skies, marking the start of an action-packed long weekend of offshore racing.

With 32 boats hitting the water, crews were treated to ideal conditions—clear skies, steady breeze, and a rolling seaway—setting the tone for what's expected to be one of the most competitive regattas in Sail Paradise history.

Southport Yacht Club Commodore Glenn Burrell, skipper of reigning champion Black Diamond, is back to defend his title against a fleet of top-tier competitors from across Queensland, Victoria, and New Zealand. "It's fantastic to see such a strong and diverse fleet again this year," said Burrell. "The energy on the docks this morning shows just how much this regatta means to the sailing community."

The four-day regatta, incorporating the Australian Sailing Queensland Yachting Championships, will see competitors contest multiple divisions including IRC, ORCi, and Performance Racing. Both on-water and onshore, the event promises a vibrant atmosphere—highlighted by this evening's official Welcome Party at Southport Yacht Club's Main Beach clubhouse.

Proudly supported by Experience Gold Coast, this year's regatta is made possible thanks to valued sponsors The Yacht Sales Co, Club Marine, XXXX, Dufour Yachts, TRYP by Wyndham Southport, and Dreamworld Australia.

Daily results, photos, and video highlights will be shared across the event's social channels and official website. The Yacht Sales Co Sail Paradise 2025 continues through to Monday 6th October, with racing held offshore between Main Beach and Coolangatta.
