Looking to deliver fantastic high octane racing, inspirational images such as have underpinned the 2025 season's output whilst continuing to share a truly unique ambience ashore, the 52 SUPER SERIES will travel to Lanzarote for two back-to-back mid-season regattas in 2026.

The Canary Islands' reputation for strong winds and waves has long since been a magnet to top sailing, windsurfing and kite events. As summer sea breezes become less reliable in the Mediterranean and daytime become unpleasant it is logical to take the world's leading grand prix monohull circuit to a renowned location where the winds are reliable year round. Not only are the conditions excellent for racing but the breezes also create a more pleasant ambience ashore.

In particular Lanzarote has continued to invest in excellent infrastructure ashore as the demands for leisure marine and high grade competition facilities have grown accordingly. It makes sense to run back-to-back events a month apart which, because of the slightly extended shipping time, allows owners and crews more time in the summer months to spend at home.

It is the first time that the 52 SUPER SERIES ventures to Lanzarote. Otherwise the 2026 regattas are hosted at tried-and-tested, favoured clubs and venues. The season opens in Mallorca at Puerto Portals - no year would be complete without a trip to the Bay of Palma - followed by the Rolex TP52 World Championship in Sardinia, at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda. And then the climax of the season will be back in Valencia where the 2023 finale proved to be a nail-biter right to the end of the final race of the year.

In more detail

May 4th - 9th: Puerto Portals (Mallorca, Spain). The circuit will open for the first time at one of the circuit's favourite venues at a time of year when there is the best chance of good breezes, the air temperatures are comfortable and the mood ashore is chilled, a perfect set up after the intensity of racing.

June 15th - 20th: Rolex TP52 World Championship, Porto Cervo (Sardinia, Italy). Another favourite venue for the 52 SUPER SERIES and it will be the first time for 15 years that the world championship has been hosted by the prestigious club. In June a good mix of conditions can be expected.

July 20th - 25th: Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain). Marina Rubicon. This modern all-services marina is in the SW of the island and is home to the Lanzarote Sailing Center which hosts the Lanzarote International Regatta and in 2024 hosted the 49er and Nacra 17 Worlds.

"The 52 SUPER SERIES is the very top level of inshore grand prix racing so to have the Marina Rubicon and the island of Lanzarote play hosts once again confirms our island and marina as one of the top sailing destinations in the world." Enthuses Rafael Lasso Lorenzo, manager of the Marina Rubicon. "Lanzarote has perfect sailing conditions year round and hosting the 52 SUPER SERIES here is a great opportunity to showcase this."

August, 24th - 29th: Lanzarote (Canary Islands, Spain) Puerto Calero Marina. Regular hosts to major circuit regattas, a firm, known favourite with top pro sailors who appreciate the racing conditions, the welcome and the facilities.

José Juan Calero, CEO of Calero Marinas, comments, "For Calero Marinas it is really exciting to welcome the TP52 class back again, after having hosted an unforgettable TP52 World Championship way back in 2008, when the class was only taking its first steps. Today there is no doubt that the 52 SUPER SERIES stands as one of the most established professional sailing circuits in the world, and its arrival in Puerto Calero comes at a particularly important time for us. It is the first year of our newly extended concession period, a new chapter during in which we will be making significant investments in infrastructure upgrades, innovation, and new services at the marina. At Calero Marinas we are very grateful to the 52 SUPER SERIES for the trust placed in us, and we cannot wait to deliver yet another unforgettable event."

October 5th - 10th: Valencia (Spain). The fleet will be based out of the former America's Cup marina. In 2024 the conditions for the decisive regatta varied from six knots to 26 knots and the regatta saw many upsets to the season's form book. And of course Valencia has so many great venues for the traditional end of season prize-giving party!

The circuit is in great shape

As detailed at the end of season event last weekend, the 52 SUPER SERIES Porto Cervo Range Rover regatta, the circuit is bidding farewell to American Magic Quantum Racing and Phoenix. But the expectation is that the fleet for 2026 and beyond will average at 13 boats and peak at 14 or even 15. A new Botin Partners TP52 is in build at King Marine in Valencia, a close sistership to Alegre and Platoon Aviation. It is set to be raced by a Swedish-flagged team led by Joakim Sundberg, an enthusiastic new young owner who sees his campaign as a five year project. A second Brazilian crew, Caballo Loco Sailing Team led by owner Mauro Dottori, has purchased Phoenix and will race next year with Brazilian Finn Gold Cup and Star World Champion Jorge Zarif as tactician.
