World Sailing's Sustainability Sessions will return for season three with a new series of 12 webinars focused on sustainability in sailing.

Designed to empower Member National Authorities, Classes, event organisers, sailing clubs and anyone involved in the sport to improve their sustainability, each session is hosted by leaders in their field and provides insight into a different aspect of the sport.

The Sustainability Sessions are free, open to anyone, expert-led and cover topics such as sustainable logistics, reducing environmental impact and using the power of sport for positive change, plus a focus on Para Inclusive Sailing and a special edition for International Women's Day.

Starting on 1 October 2025 with 'Navigating a Sustainable Future: A Conversation with World Sailing and Kuehne+Nagel', World Sailing's official logistics partner, where the use of alternative fuel solutions has created a more sustainable supply chain.

Future Sustainability Sessions will feature Oria Marine's data-driven approach to efficiency, the progress made by EurILCA in reducing plastic pollution at events, UpWind's efforts to create opportunities for female sailors in multihull offshore racing, and Sail and Explore's expeditions to remote and critical marine environments to collect valuable data on microplastics.

Alexandra Rickham, World Sailing's Director of Sustainability said, "Over the past two years, World Sailing's Sustainability Sessions have shown the potential for small changes in our sport to make a huge difference. Sustainability is a broad topic with many different aspects that can come together to create a cleaner, innovative and more equitable and accessible sport. It has been truly inspiring to hear from those who have introduced successful initiatives into their operations and those going above and beyond to conduct invaluable research.

"With the launch of our first ever World Sailing Impact Report this year, we are directly aligned to the commitments made in the World Sailing Strategy, Ready for the Future 2025-2029. There is always more to do, but it is inspiring to see so many groups around the world accept this challenge and share their findings with the wider sailing community will have an incredible impact both now and in the future.

"The third season of the Sustainability Sessions aims to inspire further change at every level of the sport with clear case studies, models to follow, and important information that will shape the future of our sport. Each session is an open, collaborative discussion, which is led by experts and an opportunity for everyone in the sport to take part and learn more about the topics."

The World Sailing Sustainability Sessions have been shortlisted in the Education and Training category of the Sport Positive Awards 2025, while the Oria Marine Support Fleet Project has also been shortlisted in the Inspired Inspiration category. The winners will be revealed during the Sport Positive Awards ceremony on 7 October 2025.
