29er EuroCup 2025 in Alsóörs - Day 2

by International 29er Class 20 Sep 09:46 UTC 18-21 September 2025

Today's weather forecast once again proved accurate, bringing a refreshing southwesterly breeze to Lake Balaton. Morning measurements already showed wind strength above the limit, so the Race Committee called the fleet out at 9 a.m.

The wind picked up to 8-10 knots, then rose to 11 knots before the first start, which meant racing began under Oscar flag. The wind direction held steady, and Hungarian sailors once again dominated the competition.

By the second and third races, the breeze had eased and shifted slightly. The Race Committee had to set new, shorter courses for each start, but despite the softening southwesterly wind, two more races were successfully completed.

After the third race, the AP flag was hoisted in hopes of a small breeze filling in, but it never materialized. The fleet was first sent ashore, and eventually the day was officially closed with AP over Alfa.

In the evening, the AMVK Club treated competitors to a cheerful Pasta Party. The EuroCup now stands at 7 completed races, and everyone is eagerly looking forward to tomorrow's action.
