Young athletes battle for world supremacy across epic wave locations as the most ambitious junior windsurfing tour ever created reaches its climax.

The sport of windsurfing is witnessing an unprecedented surge in youth talent as the groundbreaking Unified PWA IWT Wave Tour delivers both Junior U18 World Titles and Pro Junior U21 World Titles across a spectacular world tour of premium wave sailing destinations.

With the season building toward two thrilling championship finales, the next generation of windsurfing superstars are pushing the boundaries of performance in some of the world's most challenging wave conditions.

Championship finals set for epic showdowns

The Pro Junior U21 Final will reach its crescendo at the legendary Aloha Classic in Ho'okipa, Maui, Hawaii USA this October 13-24, where the world's best PRO JUNIOR U21 wave sailors will battle in Hawaii's iconic conditions for the ultimate prize.

Following this, the Junior U18 season will culminate in a landmark 200% points Grand Final in Geraldton, Western Australia from January 10-18, 2026. This historic event marks the first time a Junior World Wave Grand Final has been held in Australia, timed perfectly to align with Australian school holidays and capitalize on Western Australia's world-class wind and wave conditions during peak windsurfing season.

Current championship battles intensify

The 2025 world rankings reveal fierce competition across all divisions:

Pro Junior Boys sees Australia's Jake Ghiretti leading with 20,000 points, closely pursued by Germany's Anton Richter (17,650 pts) and Australia's Oliver Desforges (16,150 pts).

Pro Junior Girls features a thrilling tie at the top right now with Spain's Alexia Kiefer Quintana and Australia's Sarah Kenyon both commanding 20,000 points, while Australia's Jaiya Mars Morris and Spain's Maria Morales Navarro are locked in battle at 17,000 points each.

The Junior Boys division showcases Spain's Javier Escribano Toribio at the summit with 20,000 points, followed by Australia's Tyler Wallrodt (18,500 pts) and Japan's Ryoma Sugi (17,650 pts).

Junior Girls sees a commanding performance from Australia's Sarah Kenyon and Belgium's Sol Degrieck, both holding 20,000 points, with Australia's Jaiya Mars Morris and Spain's Lizzlotte Schilling Andrew tied at 17,000 points.

Critical cold Hawaii showdown approaches

The stakes couldn't be higher as competitors prepare for Cold Hawaii, Denmark (September 13-21) - the final major 5-star junior and pro junior event before the championship finals. This legendary Danish venue offers athletes their last opportunity to secure crucial 5 Star ranking points and cement their positions for the finals title fights ahead.

Revolutionary global circuit

The unified tour represents a quantum leap in youth windsurfing organization, featuring an unprecedented network of premium venues:

5-Star Events deliver maximum impact with 100% points across iconic locations including Geraldton Australia, Matanzas Chile, Gran Canaria Spain, Tenerife Spain, and Cold Hawaii Denmark.

The circuit extends through 4-Star Events in Margaret River Australia, Omaezaki Japan, and Hawaii's Maui Pro Am, while 3-Star competitions that include the special Morocco event in Moulay (with 100% special junior event rating) creating opportunities for emerging talent worldwide.

Two-Star and One-Star events complete the comprehensive pathway, awarding 10% and 5% points respectively, ensuring accessibility for developing athletes across the globe.

As WWT Commissioner Simeon Glasson noted about the Junior Grand Final: "This is a landmark moment for the sport. Bringing the grand final to Western Australia reflects our global vision for youth windsurfing, as the finals rotate around the world each year for maximum access and fairness, and this time highlights Geraldton's world class wind and wave conditions."

With championship titles, global recognition, and the future of professional windsurfing at stake, the Junior and Pro Junior World Wave Tour represents the ultimate proving ground for the sport's next generation of superstars.

The wave sailing revolution starts here - and the future has never looked more exciting.
