The last few days of August saw club members racing for three of their trophies. Whilst some of the club members who'd been there for Regatta had gone home there were nevertheless plenty to enjoy these three very special events.

The first was the Nod Race, the club's 'long distance race' through to the Nod mark in Brancaster Harbour. A slightly shorter course is set for junior helms. This race is always very dependent on the right combination of wind and tide but provides some of the most picturesque racing for club members. The race presented its usual challenges with a high tide covering the marsh presenting navigational issues for the unwary!

The usual mix of craft took part, and Lucy Lamont (Laser Radial) won overall on handicap, followed by the full rigs of Jack Hargreaves, Ash Deakin and Luke Cornwall-Jomes. Paul and Ben Goakes (Sharpie) were first double handers. Sam Worsley won the Junior Nod Race.

Following on from the Nod the rescheduled Adult and Child Race took place on Wednesday 27 August. Leo and Lucy Lamont were first on handicap, followed by Paul Goakes and Sam Lamont (Twinkle 12) and Jim and Sammy Anderson (Twinkle 12). The Bittern of Andreas Wesemann and Lappo Brady were fourth with Arlo and Massi Brady 5th in their Gull.

Thursday 28 August saw a select group of sailors competing for the Overy Jerry. Originally presented by Garry Maufe, this is a chamber pot sailed for by our 'gerry-atrics' - helm to be over 60 years of age, if the boat is double handed the combined age of the helm and crew must be 120 or over.

Adam Mills won overall in his Laser 4.7, followed by Rodney Tidd (OK) and Andrew Storer (Laser). Dave Cooper and Catherine Goodley were fourth in their National 12.

The club now looks forward to two days of racing over 6 and 7 September with their final races for the 2025 season on 20 and 21 September.
