Dartmouth Sailing Week 2025 Video Highlights

by Dartmouth Sailing Week 30 Aug 08:42 PDT 27-30 August 2025

Day 1

Dartmouth Sailing Week kicked off in spectacular fashion! Despite a four-hour delay due to challenging morning conditions, the Yacht & Day Boat Series delivered thrilling races across the bay with incredible action on every course.

Highlights:

  • Outer Course: IRC 0 to J109, J111, IRC 1 & Class 2 across four exciting starts
  • Middle Course: Classics, Cruiser 1, IRC 3 & 4, plus Cruiser 2 racing against Dartmouth's stunning cliff backdrop
  • Inner Course: Cancelled due to conditions, but the determination set the tone for an unforgettable week

The day wrapped up with prize-giving, food, drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere ashore. A big thank you to Henri-Lloyd for sponsoring Day 1 and helping us launch the Series in style.

Day 2

Day two of Dartmouth Sailing Week, sponsored by B&G, brought non-stop action on the water! From the outer to the inner courses, crews battled dynamic conditions that tested strategy, skill, and teamwork — producing some truly unforgettable sailing moments.

The middle course saw epic racing with boats pushed to their limits, while the outer course delivered tight tactical battles against the stunning backdrop of Dartmouth's coastline. On the inner course, smaller boats navigated waves with precision and determination, showing the grit that makes this regatta so special.

Every start, tack, and finish highlighted the intensity of the Series, and the atmosphere ashore was just as electric — with prize-giving, sunshine, and plenty of celebrations bringing the community together.

Day 3

Day Three of Dartmouth Sailing Week 2025 delivered everything from tight competition to classic gaffer triumphs. Proudly supported by @ancastersailing, three races were completed despite passing rain squalls, in what proved to be near-perfect champagne sailing conditions.

On the water:

  • The middle course saw some of the most competitive racing of the week, with sailors pushing themselves and their boats to the limit.
  • The outer course featured close, tactical battles set against Dartmouth's stunning coastline.
  • The inner course tested smaller boats with shifting winds and waves.
  • The new White Sail format provided exciting, close racing for crews making their debut.
  • Classic gaffer Cynthia claimed her class trophy, adding tradition and flair to the day's action.

Ashore, prize-giving, celebrations, and the famous Salcombe Gin drop kept spirits high — the perfect end to a thrilling day.

With Day Four sadly cancelled due to weather, Day Three marked the final day of sailing, capping an unforgettable week of competition, community, and sailing excellence at Dartmouth.

Event Round-Up

What a week on the water! From junior dinghies to gaffers, champagne sailing to tactical battles — Dartmouth Royal Regatta Sailing Week 2025 had it all.

Across the Junior Series, the iconic Passage Race, and four days of Yacht & Dayboat competition, sailors delivered thrilling racing and unforgettable moments. The new White Sail event and the famous Salcombe Gin drops brought extra sparkle, while the weather only cut Day Four short.

Prizegiving highlights:

  • Cynthia lifted the Alliance Building Society Cup in the Gaffers
  • Elaine Again topped IRC 2
  • Thinking Space claimed the Dirty Dog Cup in IRC 1
  • Darkwood triumphed in IRC Zero with the Joseph H. H. Shield

A huge thank you to the sponsors, volunteers and teams — this regatta wouldn't be possible without you.
