The Class30 Association is proud to announce the inaugural edition of the National C30 Championship, which will bring together an impressive fleet of 15 identical Sun Fast 30 One Designs from across the globe. With competitors representing 5 countries and 4 continents, this first-of-its-kind event highlights the truly international spirit of the class.

The Sun Fast 30 One Design has rapidly established itself as a modern and accessible offshore racing platform. Designed to make high-level offshore sailing more inclusive and sustainable, the boat and its growing class already attract sailors from diverse backgrounds and regions.

The National C30 will be hosted in Cherbourg and organized under the sporting direction of the Yacht Club de Cherbourg, with the support of the Class30 Association.

The Class30 project is backed by its "founding fathers" - three of the world's most prestigious yacht clubs:

  • The Yacht Club de France (YCF)
  • The Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC)
  • The Storm Trysail Club (STC)
Together, these clubs are helping to open offshore racing to a wider audience, while reinforcing the international reach and prestige of the discipline.

This first edition of the National C30 marks a milestone: a vibrant new championship in a dynamic new class, designed to inspire a new generation of offshore sailors.

Looking Ahead: The Sailing Marathon in Cowes

Later in September, the Class30 calendar will move to Cowes (UK) for another highlight of the season: the Sailing Marathon (mix double handed world Championship - #ODHWC2025).

Unique in format, this offshore endurance race will see teams push their limits in non-stop long-distance challenges aboard the Sun Fast 30 One Design. Just like a marathon on land, it demands stamina, strategy, and resilience - a true test of offshore racing skills.

With Cherbourg hosting the first-ever National C30 Championship and Cowes staging the 2025 Sailing Marathon, the Class30 is already demonstrating its international ambition: bringing offshore sailing closer to sailors and fans worldwide.

Event Highlights:

  • 15 Sun Fast 30 One Designs on the start line
  • 5 nations, 4 continents represented
  • Organized in Cherbourg under the direction of the YCC
  • Supported by the Class30 founding clubs: YCF, RORC, STC
