RSYS will hold its 'Ladies of the Sea' (LOTS) Coaching Regatta over the October long weekend, 5-7 October 2025.

This annual Sydney Harbour event aims to challenge and nurture female sailors, with some of Australia's most accomplished yachtswomen including Bridget Cangham, Vanessa Dudley, Lindy Hardcastle, Nickie Jones and Kathy Veel providing coaching across the weekend. The focus is on enhancing capabilities, building confidence and developing skills on the water.?

A mix of on-water and on-shore events, the regatta places an emphasis on creating a welcoming and sociable environment. After a coaching session each morning focussing on starting, racing and team skills, participants have the opportunity to test their skills against each other in a short windward/leeward race series throughout the afternoon. Coaches rotate across the boats ensuring every team has high level support and skill development.

The regatta is open to both keelboats and one-design (Elliott 7, J/70 and Yngling) fleets, spinnaker and non-spinnaker yachts. All-female crews or a female helm with mixed crew are invited to enter.

The event originated in 2019 and last year attracted over 100 participants from 29 Clubs around Australia.

See RSYS/Events and Regattas/Ladies of the Sea Coaching Regatta for more information and to enter. Individual women sailors are invited to contact to join the crew register for this event.
