XOD Captain's Cup at Cowes Week - Day 5

After a substantial wait for the South Westerly sea breeze to work its way down from Lymington we got going.
With the tide turning decisions were required at first the boats in slack water in the middle made good gains including Tom Vernon's Silhouette.
Gradually the breeze shifted left and the tide went to a full flood. This led to a monster tackathon, with a fair amount of interaction with other fleets and the shore. Many boats managed to find Baxter's Ledge including today's winner. Despite making contact with the King's land Silhouette managed to develop a huge lead ahead of Astralita who found the same bit of land and Lara who managed to stay clear all day.
On youth day a special mention goes to XL our youth bursary entry who finished in a very creditable 9th place today. Well sailed Abby Hire, Alex Paton, Kate and Tom Wharmby!
