Get ready to race in the ultimate online sailing challenge as The Ocean Race Europe teams up with Virtual Regatta for an action-packed summer.

The thrill of online racing is back this summer as The Ocean Race Europe and Virtual Regatta announce a renewed partnership ahead of the start of the race 10 August.

Whether you're a seasoned armchair sailor or a rookie racer, this is your chance to test your skills against other online racers from all around the world, and even race alongside the real fleet, virtually, of course.

The Virtual Regatta race platform mirrors the live race route of The Ocean Race Europe, bringing the same challenges, tactics, and performance profiles that the professional IMOCA sailors face at sea as they compete in five-legs over a six week period.

"The Ocean Race Europe is a short-format, intense and exciting race. It demands a lot from the competitors, both on the water and behind a screen," said Peter Rusch, Director of Communications for The Ocean Race. "Teaming up with Virtual Regatta to bring fans into the experience via the online race is a great way to inspire and engage sailors of all ages and backgrounds."

This summer's edition of The Ocean Race Europe features the best IMOCA sailors and teams in a race Connecting Europe, from the start in Kiel, Germany on 10 August, through stops in Portsmouth, UK; Porto-Matosinhos, Portugal (Fly-By); Cartagena, Spain; Nice, France; and Genova, Italy before the Finale in the Adriatic Sea at Boka Bay, Montenegro.

The race course offers up plenty of tactical twists and the virtual race delivers all of the same challenges and drama. With real-time weather, live leaderboards, and in-game rewards, players can compete with friends, climb the rankings, and even win prizes.

Tom Gauthier, Managing Director, Virtual Regatta, added: "We're thrilled to be back with The Ocean Race Europe. This is a race full of energy, excitement and community. It has everything our fans love. We can't wait to see who comes out on top, both on the water and online."

The Virtual Regatta Offshore game is free to play and open to everyone. So whether you're a sailing strategist, a race fan, or just up for some summer fun, make sure to sign up and join the race ahead of the start in Kiel, Germany on 10 August.

Sign up for Leg 1 before the start on Sunday 10 August at www.theoceanrace.com or Virtual Regatta.
