With just a few weeks to go to the latest edition of Torbay Royal Regatta, hosted by Royal Torbay Yacht Club, there is a growing sense of excitement amongst competitors, sponsors, and organisers.

Held over the August Bank Holiday weekend (23rd to 25th August 2025), and based at the RTYC's historic clubhouse overlooking Torquay harbour, Torbay Royal Regatta is one of the oldest and most prestigious events in the country, and continues to attract entries from across the country, as well as abroad.

Over many years, RTYC has established an unrivalled reputation in hosting National, European and World championships, and its annual Regatta remains a jewel in the crown of the South coast racing scene.

Torquay, at the heart of the English Riviera, is a great place to be in August and competitors will enjoy a friendly atmosphere, cordial hospitality and great shoreside entertainment, featuring the Regatta welcome reception, fireworks and harbourside facilities.

The Regatta will see intense competition over three days for IRC, Cruisers, SB20s, Sportsboats, and J24s, and the entry list is already looking impressive, including several current champions.

With RTYC hosting the SB20 World Championships in 2027, a strong fleet is expected, and reigning World and National champion John Pollard/Team Excellent will be looking to extend their run of success at TRR.

The J24 entry list is also looking highly competitive, with 2025 National Champion James Torr heading the entry list, along with Tim Octon, who placed third in the Nationals.

In the Sportsboat class, the J70s are looking strong, whilst the IRC and Cruiser fleets are likely to be close fought affairs.

Entries remain open for the next few weeks, and all new entrants will be very welcome. Details can be found here.

And with free harbour berthing for visiting keelboats, and free craneage for SB20s, J24s, and Sportsboats, it couldn't be easier to access to the magnificent waters of Tor Bay.

And finally, many thanks to our wonderful sponsors, St. Austell Brewery and One Marine Yacht and Powerboat Brokers, whose support is invaluable.
