A deep low off the north coast will move away to the east Sunday night and on Monday, while a ridge of high pressure develops in its wake.

This will cause winds to ease but large and powerful waves are likely to continue during the first half of the week. The next cold front looks set to brush the southern waters on Tuesday.

Where

For Monday, BOM is warning of large and powerful surf conditions hazardous for crossing bars by boat and rock fishing for the entire NSW coast. In the north there will be 2.5 to 3 metre seas plus 4 to 5 metre swells; in the south, there will be 1 metre seas and 4 metre swells. Swell directions are very mixed...mostly south and south easterly but some north easterly thrown in on Batemans/Eden coasts.

For Tuesday, BOM is warning of large and powerful surf conditions expected to be hazardous for crossing bars by boat and rock fishing for the entire NSW coast. There will be 1 to 1.5 metre seas plus 3 to 4 metre swells. Swell directions will be mostly south easterly on Byron/Coffs coasts, easterly for other coasts.

Swell period
Swell period will be around 10 to 12 seconds on all coasts.
