Along with the 12th edition of the GBR IRC Channel Islands Championship for cruiser/racers (www.rorcrating.com), the Regatta organising committee is pleased to announce that the Channel Islands Open Dinghy Masters Championship will also run under the Carey Olsen Jersey Regatta banner over 13th and 14th September.

Organised by St Catherine's Sailing Club, this event is for Channel Islands and visiting competitors aged 35 and over sailing monohull boats with Portsmouth Yardstick numbers of 1216 or less. The Masters will race in the 'fast' dinghy class of the Regatta programme and will be subject to the Regatta standard Sailing Instructions.

Racing takes place over windward-leeward courses laid in the beautiful natural arena of St Aubin's Bay on the Island's south coast. The overall 'small' boat programme includes racing for the 'slow' dinghy class in addition to dayboat and sport catamaran classes, all under the control of an independent race committee operating to the north of the Bay. The cruiser/racer, quarter ton and sportsboat classes race, independently, to the south of the Bay and in adjacent coastal waters.

Age does have its benefits in that those competing for the Masters' prizes, also kindly sponsored by Carey Olsen, will simultaneously compete for the traditional Jersey Regatta trophies and prizes. The top Masters prize will be the Francis Le Brocq Trophy for the first Channel Islands helm with prizes for competitors racing in four age bands 35, 45, 55 and 65 plus. There will, also, be prizes for first lady and first non-CI helms and for the first 'ton-up' team.

Find the Masters Notice of Race and entry instructions and Sailing Instructions on the Regatta website, www.jerseyregatta.com. Prospective entrants are invited to sign up no later than Friday 29th August to benefit from 'early bird' entry fees. Entries close on Tuesday 9th September.

Further information may be obtained by e-mailing or calling +44 (0) 1534 732229.
