Registration fees for the 61st Rolex Big Boat Series hosted by St. Francis Yacht Club from September 10-14, 2025, will increase by $275 after July 31, 2025.

The can't-miss regatta on the West Coast sailing calendar, Rolex Big Boat Series draws skippers and sailors from across the country eager to compete on the legendary waters of San Francisco Bay.

Registration for the 2025 RBBS is open now and dozens of boats have already committed. The following are invited to compete in this year's Rolex Big Boat Series:

  • One-design boats of the J/88, J/105, Cape 31 and Express 37 classes. Other classes with a minimum of six boats can be considered with application to the Organizing Authority.
  • ORC Monohulls with a LOA = 30 feet. Boats with an APH of 500 or lower are required to have an ORC International certificate. Boats with an APH higher than 500 may compete using either an ORC International Certificate or ORC Club Certificate.
  • Classic boats built prior to 1955 with a LOA = 48 feet and a current ORRez rating certificate.

The event will serve as the 2025 ORC Pacific Coast Championship, and St. Francis Yacht Club is pleased to announce that the 2026 Rolex Big Boat Series has been selected to host the ORC North American Championship. For handicap boats looking to contest top honors in the nation, this year's RBBS offers the perfect opportunity to test the waters and prepare for racing at this iconic venue.

"Hosting the ORC Pacific Coast Championship this year, and the North American Championship next year will turn up the heat on the already intense competition in the handicap fleet that RBBS is known for. We're looking forward to welcoming a large contingent of competitors this year," said Felix Weidling, St. Francis Yacht Club's Race Director. "It will be an incredible preview for yachts from around the country to get to know all that RBBS has to offer and test their skills on the challenging waters of San Francisco Bay."

For those traveling from outside the Bay Area—or who simply want to stay closer to the action—special offers on accommodations are available at the event's official hotel partner, Infinity Hotel, located in the Marina District.

In addition to title sponsor Rolex, the week of racing is further supported by Quantum Sails Daily Weather Briefings every morning before racing, official Rolex Big Boat Series merchandise from Regatta Gear, Mustang Survival gear for sale at the Regatta Plaza, complimentary Fort Point Beer after every day's competition and the outstanding Mount Gay Rum Party on Friday night.

"Now's the time to make your travel plans and lock in your spot on the starting line at this year's Rolex Big Boat Series," said Regatta Chair Nadine Franczyk. "I've been involved with this incredible event for 20 years, including as a competitor, and I'm honored to be chairing it this year. There's nothing like the energy of sailors, friends and families coming together to race and celebrate the sport we love. Don't miss out on the action—come be part of the excitement, camaraderie and world-class racing!"

Be sure to register before July 31 to avoid late registration fees—and get ready for world-class racing on San Francisco Bay and the legendary shoreside social at St. Francis Yacht Club.
