Reaching our 25th year in business is a milestone moment for the Design Unlimited team, it’s something we’re incredibly proud of. Our portfolio of work includes some of the most successful and identifiable yachts on the water from across the new-build superyacht sector, refit, and production boat market.

“When I look back, I can’t believe how far we’ve come. We always had enormous drive and high hopes for the business, but our first office was in a converted cabin on my uncle’s farm and when we opened the doors on day one, we hadn’t yet been commissioned for our first project. Marking the start of our new company back at the turn of the Millennium, a friend gave us a picture frame with a £10 note inside and the slogan ‘Break Glass in case of Emergencies’ – I’m pleased to say it is still intact!” – Julie Tucker, Managing Director

Mark recalls working at the drawing board - producing concept designs in 2D, and what a step change the introduction of CAD software was. In the early days, Julie managed her commitments to the business alongside the care of their two young children, who now work in the business themselves.

From those humble beginnings, grew an internationally renowned and award-winning studio, employing a team of 14 talented designers. There are now 43 full-custom superyachts bearing interiors by Design Unlimited, and the studio has executed designs for 70 different production yacht models.

Industry friends and colleagues shared their congratulations, helping the Design Unlimited team celebrate this special occasion.

“There have been highs and lows over the years, and it’s been hard work, but that makes it all the more worth celebrating! It’s hard to believe that a quarter of a century has gone by – it seems the years pass whilst you’re busy making plans and designing boats! Myself and the team continue to find it extremely rewarding when we see a design set sail with a delighted client onboard, and we remain true to our client-centric methodology.” – Mark Tucker, Creative Director

Mark and Julie would like to take the occasion of the studio’s 25th anniversary to thank their team and their clients, who have entrusted them to realise challenging and inspiring designs. They also thank their peers, industry contemporaries, and valued suppliers who have helped to make this extraordinary journey so enjoyable.
