MB92 Barcelona, a global leader in superyacht refit and repair, has been recognised with the 2025 President Macià Placa de Treball by the Government of Catalonia in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category.

The award highlights the company's significant social and economic contributions, alongside its strategic investments in sustainability and community development.

The jury recognised MB92 for its CSR practices, which include progressive labour policies and impactful community initiatives. Over the past five years, MB92 Barcelona has invested more than €500,000 in training programmes. The shipyard directly employs over 200 people and supports more than 1,000 indirect jobs.

MB92 Barcelona has launched several community-focused initiatives, such as a seasonal holiday toy drive for Barceloneta residents and the donation of a coastal rowing boat to support the Nereida Project, which promotes physical and emotional well-being for breast cancer patients. The company also champions vocational training opportunities, notably through the pioneering "FP On Board" program, which enables students to gain hands-on experience at MB92 and partner companies, laying the groundwork for vocational training in the nautical sector.

On the environmental front, MB92 Barcelona has invested in reducing noise and light pollution, improving waste management, and transitioning from combustion to electric machinery. All berths have been electrified with 100% renewable energy, and yachts are connected to the local power grid to eliminate fuel burning on-site. The company has also promoted marine biodiversity in the port by installing artificial reefs. In 2023, the company launched "Refit for the Future," the world's first sustainable refit program designed to help the superyacht fleet reduce its environmental impact.

MB92 Barcelona is a founding member of the Clúster Nàutic, collaborates closely with the Port of Barcelona, and leads various associations aimed at supporting the growth of local SMEs and tech startups, including initiatives with Barcelona Activa.

"We are extremely proud to receive this award, which is a true recognition of our CSR strategy. At MB92, we are deeply committed to responsible business practices and to making a positive economic and social impact in our community," said Carmen Sánchez, MB92 Group Director of Human Resources and Culture.
