On July 9, Marinetek and the Pathumthani Concrete Company (PACO Group) signed a cooperation agreement for sale and distribution of Marinetek pontoons and floating solutions in Thailand.

The signing ceremony took place at the Finnish embassy in Bangkok, in the presence of Finland’s ambassador to Thailand, Her Excellency Kristiina Kuvaja-Xanthopoulos and Mr. Kai Tuorila, Counsellor, Trade and Development.

“With the PACO Group we are confident we have found a trustworthy and professional partner for further growth of our business activities in Thailand and Southeast Asia”, according to Ruurd van Putten, Area Director of Marinetek in Southeast Asia. “They have an impressive network and customer base in the private, commercial and governmental sector”.

Marinetek is an internationally recognized brand name for premium marinas and advanced floating solutions. With the industry’s widest concrete pontoon product range and a solid network of marina experts around the world, Marinetek can match different customer needs from a custom-made floating structure to a world-class marina.

Founded in 1978, The Pathumthani Concrete Company can lean on decades of experience in manufacturing pre-cast concrete products and piles, as well as piling and marine works. The company has a strong reputation for quality and innovation.

Mr. Songkierti Khunkitti, Managing Director of the Pathumthani Concrete Company: “We look forward to cooperation with Marinetek, where we can use our longstanding relationships with our customers from the piling business to sell and install more, safer and stronger concrete pontoons in Thailand”.

Together, PACO Group and Marinetek are actively pursuing growth in different market segments, where Marinetek’s pontoons and floating solutions reach their full potential.

The potential for further development of the marina business in Thailand is high, especially as yachting, marinas and related activities are now recognised as pillars of the tourism industry. Besides the marina business, other target markets are infrastructure for waterway passenger transport and renewable energy, specifically floating solar (FPV) plants.

Marinetek has developed several solutions for common challenges in the FPV industry, using its expertise and experience from the marina business. These innovations and solutions, just as other issues related to sustainable development, can be assured of the interest of the Finnish Embassy and are wholeheartedly supported by the Ambassador and Team Finland.
