The Diam 24od season is heating up on all fronts! As the World Diam Tour Caribbean circuit wraps up, the mainland France circuit is now at its halfway point after the SPI Ouest France, the Grand Prix de l'École Navale, and the 4vent Cup.

But beyond the races, it's the growing enthusiasm of new owners embracing the Diam 24od that we want to share with you in this newsletter. It's this diversity of projects that the Class aims to encourage and support.

A new "Diam 24od way of life" is under way!

World Diam Tour Caribbean 2025: Buzz Race Team wins a tough, competitive circuit

Final Bow for the World Diam Tour Caribbean 2025. The WDT Caribbean 2025 delivered on all its promises with five planned stages—although the final one couldn't take place due to exceptional stormy weather conditions. Thus, the overall results are based on four races held between Saint Martin and Antigua, featuring varied yet always spectacular conditions.

After a series of intense races including the SMYC Grand Prix, the Caribbean Multihull Challenge, the legendary Heineken Regatta (which saw 11 Diam 24od participants, including 3 crews from mainland France), and finally the Friar Bays Grand Prix, Buzz Race Team emerged victorious with remarkable consistency (3-2-4-3), scoring a total of 12 points. They were followed by Crybaby (15 points) and Look Up SBH (18 points), completing a hard-fought podium battle throughout the circuit. Special mention also goes to Karibuni and Anomaly, winners of the 1st and 2nd stages respectively.

The 2025 edition again showcased the vitality of the Diam 24od fleet in the Caribbean, with nine crews competing—including several new faces strengthening the local fleet. The outlook for 2026 is already very promising, with three Diam 24od boats from the French Antilles confirming their intention to join all or part of the circuit.

A huge thank you to the organizers, partner clubs, and crews for their dedication and passion.

See you late 2025 and early 2026 for an even richer season ahead!

Naval Academy Grand Prix & The 4 Vents Cup: Just one stop in Brest for two events!

From May 29 to 31, the Diam 24od fleet gathered in Camaret-sur-Mer for the second stage of the World Diam Tour France, as part of the Grand Prix de l'École Navale.

Seven crews came together for three days of intense racing in medium wind conditions. The technical and spectacular waters of the Iroise Sea lived up to their reputation, perfectly highlighted by flawless organization and a highly efficient race committee that smoothly ran the series of races.

After nine races, including a stunning coastal raid, the crew of Opteanwork, based in Port-La-Forêt, took the victory. They were followed by Fast Net from Saint-Malo and the Brest-based French Touch Oceans Club, who also delivered an impressive performance in their debut season with the Diam 24od.

This event confirmed the very high level and consistency of the Diam 24od fleet: commitment, friendliness, and class spirit were once again the order of the day!

A key factor in this success was the innovative logistics solution devised by the Class, supported by Alain Daoulas from the École Navale de Brest, organizer of the Grand Prix, and Christophe Boutet of Aloha Attitude, co-organizer of the 4 Vents Cup in Brest (the third stage of the World Diam Tour France 2025).

Thanks to their attentiveness, an effective solution was implemented by allowing a single stop for two events in the circuit: the Diam 24od boats were welcomed at the Port du Moulin Blanc in Brest for assembly and launching. After a few sails, they reached Camaret to compete in the GPEN. At the end of the event, the boats returned to Moulin Blanc, ready to be lifted out and prepped for the 4 Vents Cup, held on June 14 and 15.

Held in ideal conditions, the 4 Vents Cup offered intense and close racing. Fastnet claimed victory after a thrilling duel with Andiamo, while Opteanwork completed the podium. Impeccable organization, a balanced fleet, and that perfect blend of competitiveness and camaraderie that defines the Diam 24od spirit.

Behind this shared logistics—transport by road in D-box trailers, boat assembly with the Diam24 support truck provided by the shipyard for both events—lies the very ethos of the Class: rather than long speeches, it's about offering concrete, flexible, and adapted solutions that truly simplify and enhance modern sailing practice.

A big thank you to Alain and Christophe for their dedication and for making everything possible, and of course to the ever-reliable Vianney Ancellin from the shipyard, always ready to put us in the best conditions for more sailing time and enjoyment on the water!

We look forward to the next stage of the WDT France in September, with a first-ever event in the bay of Saint Malo from September 19 to 21!

The Diam 24od appeals far beyond the WDT!

While the World Diam Tour regattas and other Class events regularly make headlines, it is just as important to highlight the passion driving new Diam 24 one-design owners, both in France and internationally.

A raid in Brittany and regular outings: the Diam 24od tamed by Erwan Aubry
Based in Southern Brittany, Erwan Aubry recently joined the Diam 24od owners' community. Enthusiastic, he shared this message after about thirty sails, including a three-day coastal raid between the islands of Hoëdic, Houat, and Belle-Île:

"This boat is truly incredible, well thought-out, and the pleasure grows with confidence. [...] Lou Berthomieu sailed with me one afternoon and really appreciated the machine. [...] We anchored overnight at Hoëdic, and nothing moved. The new sails are fantastic. [...] Next step: sleeping onboard!"

This testimony perfectly illustrates the versatility of the Diam 24od: both a demanding racing platform and a light coastal cruising boat for sailing adventures. The topic of onboard living has even emerged among several owners—a new development avenue to explore together this winter!

Heading for adventure in North America: a Diam 24od in the Race to Alaska!
From another latitude and perspective, John Ped, a new owner of a 2015 Diam 24od based on the US East Coast, recently contacted us. His ambition? To participate in the legendary Race to Alaska (R2AK) in 2026 with his Diam 24od.

For those unfamiliar with this extraordinary race, here's a quick overview: The Race to Alaska is a 750-nautical-mile, engine-free, and unsupported race from Port Townsend, Washington, to Ketchikan, Alaska, passing through the wild coasts of British Columbia.

Crews must face fierce currents, unpredictable weather, and complex navigation zones—all entirely self-sufficient.

An extreme adventure, at the crossroads of racing and expedition, in which the Diam 24od may well write a new page in its history.

John naturally reached out to the Class to obtain speed polars, a tuning guide for his boat, and logistical advice to prepare for his challenge.

Tour of Île de Ré: A Diam 24od takes the win this year!
With a summery atmosphere, fresh breeze, and spirit of discovery, the brand-new Rochelais crew Sonic brilliantly completed a superb raid around Île de Ré—winning the event in the process!

Following the exciting momentum in La Rochelle—where three Diam 24s are already moored at the Minimes monotype ramp—this family crew continues to make waves. Their latest outing included sailing under the Île de Ré bridge, a run up to Ars-en-Ré, and fast legs in a dream setting.

But beyond the sporting performance, it was above all the joy of sailing and exploring new coastal spots that left a lasting impression. "It was truly a fantastic day, regularly hitting 18 knots on a course you never get tired of rediscovering. An event to do again!" smiled Maëlle Darnaude, clearly won over like the rest of the crew.

A vibrant D24od class and a fleet on the move
These three stories confirm what we see every month: the Diam 24 One Design continues to attract beyond the regular racing circuit. It offers unique sailing sensations, a robust and lightweight design, and adaptability that appeals to both competitors and adventurers alike.

Welcome to Erwan, John, and all those joining the series—your stories are also the story of the Diam 24od.
