Australian Sailing welcomes Malcolm Page OAM as new CEO

Australian Sailing is pleased to announce the appointment of respected sports administrator and dual Olympic gold medallist Malcolm Page OAM OLY as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Page brings a wealth of experience to the role, with a celebrated career both on and off the water. As one of Australia's most successful Olympic sailors, Page secured gold medals at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games and was named Australian Sailing Male Sailor of the Year on two occasions.
His transition from elite athlete to sports leader has seen him serve in senior roles with World Sailing where he was the Head of Media, and at US Sailing where he served as the Chief of Olympic Sailing.
He remains solidly connected to the grassroots of the sport, having been Commodore of his local club, Manly 16ft Skiff Sailing Club, from 2021-23 and is a current Director of Australian Sailing.
Australian Sailing President Shevaun Bruland welcomed Page's appointment, saying: "We are delighted to appoint Malcolm as CEO. His deep understanding of our sport, passion for sailing at all levels, and demonstrated leadership in national and international settings make him the ideal person to lead Australian Sailing into its next chapter.
"He has the vision and energy to continue the implementation of our SAILING 2032 strategic plan and to strengthen our sport's presence in communities across Australia."
The 8-time World Champion is excited to get to work on delivering growth for the sport from the grassroots up.
"It is an honour and a privilege to return to the peak body that really shaped my career, and to serve a sport that means so much to me," said Page.
"I have loved the sport since I was seven years old, and I still love it today. Like all sports we have challenges and opportunities on the road ahead, and I am committed to working closely with clubs, members, volunteers, and partners to grow sailing at every level - from grassroots participation to Olympic success at Brisbane 2032. Together, we can ensure sailing remains an inclusive, exciting and sustainable sport for generations to come.
"I can't wait to get involved and work with the community to build the sport moving forward."
Page will commence his role in late July, succeeding outgoing CEO Ben Houston. Australian Sailing once again extends its sincere thanks to Houston for his contribution and leadership over the past six years.
