Coral Sea Marina is thrilled to announce a new family-friendly and educational community event, the Better Boating Expo, which is set to take place on Friday, 11th July from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Coral Sea Marina Gardens.

Designed to bring together boating enthusiasts, locals, and visitors alike, this vibrant and interactive expo is a celebration of marine safety, sustainability, and stewardship of the stunning Whitsundays region. With a strong focus on improving boating practices and deepening the community's connection to the environment, the event promises something for everyone - from seasoned sailors to first-time adventurers.

The Better Boating Expo will feature a wide range of hands-on demonstrations, engaging information booths, and experts on hand to educate attendees. Learn how to protect and preserve the Great Barrier Reef from passionate local Master Reef Guides or be educated and entertained by the Volunteer Marine Rescue Whitsundays with their live flare and life-raft demonstrations. Learn the ropes (literally) with Mainstay Sailing at their knot-tying station or discover more about our beautiful migrating humpback whales from the Whales of the Whitsundays... and this would be to only name a few.

Exhibitors include an impressive line-up of marine and conservation organisations such as Master Reef Guides, Queensland Parks and Wildlife, Volunteer Marine Rescue Whitsundays, Maritime Safety Queensland, Water Police, Tangaroa Blue, Whales of the Whitsundays, Airlie Beach Swim School, Mainstay Sailing - plus many more inspiring local businesses.

The day will also offer fun for the whole family, with face painting, an ice cream van, and plenty of opportunities to explore and learn through the interactive displays.

A key feature of the expo will also be the official launch of Coral Sea Marina's new Better Boating Guide - A Guide to Greener Recreational Boating. This free resource offers practical and accessible advice for anyone enjoying time on the water, including tips on reducing pollution, managing waste, sustainable boat maintenance, protecting marine life and navigating the zoning requirements within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

Our location in the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef region is the major draw card for thousands of boating visitors every year," says Joscelyn O'Keefe, Head of Marketing and Business Development at Coral Sea Marina.

"The boating community is in a unique position to act as ambassadors of the ocean by making smart, sustainable choices and creating good boating habits, leading to a safer marine experience whilst reducing the impact of boating activities on the marine environment."

The guide is now available to download on the Coral Sea Academy website, Coral Sea Marina's platform dedicated to promoting educational resources, responsible tourism, and better boating across the Whitsundays.

Attendees who download the guide will also go into the draw to WIN a Sustainable Boating Pack, with winners announced during the event.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to engage with the boating community, learn from marine experts, and take part in building a more sustainable future for our oceans.
