For the first time the Agora direct MidsummerSail has been won by a multihull, with the trimaran Flying Dragon, taking line honours as overall winner.
The Dragonfly 40 reached the famous yellow buoy that marks end of the Baltic Sea after 5 days, 19 hours, 54 minutes and 23 seconds.
The crew, skippered by Jens Thuesen had to contend with variable weather from calm waters at the start of the 900 nautical mile race, to stormy winds from all directions. The calm winds leaving the start from Wismar in Germany to Toere in Sweden, meant the Dragonfly missed taking the multihull record by a day.
The Agoradirect MidsummerSail races from the southernmost to the northernmost point of the Baltic Sea, and is the longest race across the Baltic, with boats of various classes taking part.
