With just three weeks to go until the 2025 Stoneways VPRS National Championships, anticipation is building for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of yacht racing.

Taking place on the 19th and 20th of July, this year's event is hosted by the esteemed Royal Southern Yacht Club and brings together everything the VPRS fleet loves: close, competitive racing, expertly managed courses, and shoreside hospitality that's second to none.

With its own fleet utilising the VPRS rating model, the Royal Southern Yacht Club brings its renowned race management and hospitality expertise to the 2025 Nationals.

A contingent from the VPRS stronghold of Poole, will enjoy a feeder race organised by Poole Yacht Racing Association to the Hamble on Friday 18 July.

The event itself offering an outstanding opportunity for VPRS-rated yachts to compete in a professionally run regatta at one of the UK's premier sailing venues.

The weekend schedule features; three inshore races on Saturday, 19 July and one extended distance race on Sunday, 20 July, carrying double points, guaranteeing some added intensity and strategic racing.

Off the water, the Royal Southern Yacht Club is set to deliver its signature welcome, with a VPRS Sailors Supper on Saturday evening promising a lively and sociable gathering in the club's Hamble clubhouse.

The 2025 Championships are again proudly supported by Stoneways Marine, with Matt Adkins of Glass Relief joining this year as co-sponsor, providing bespoke prizes for the class winners. The prize-giving taking place on Sunday afternoon allowing visiting crews time to return to their home berths.

Entries are open, and with berthing expected to be in demand, visiting crews are encouraged to contact the Royal Southern Yacht Club's Haven team to secure a berth. Full event information, including the Notice of Race, is available via the club's official website.

Whether you're a regular on the VPRS circuit or a newcomer curious to experience one of the friendliest and most rewarding rating systems in UK sailing, the 2025 Nationals offer a perfect opportunity to join a well-run, well-supported regatta in one of the country's most iconic sailing venues. There's still time to enter — and every reason to get involved.
