18ft Skiff European Championships 2025 at Circolo Vela Arco

by Elena Giolai 27 Jun 02:25 PDT

The International 18 Footer League - European Championship 2025, hosted by Circolo Vela Arco, concluded on Thursday, June 26th, after five days of spectacular racing featuring some of the fastest and most exciting skiffs in the sailing world: the Australian 18 Footers.

With consistently strong conditions on Lake Garda - predominantly southerly winds ranging from 16 to 24 knots - a total of 15 races were completed, with two discards applied. It was a championship of high technical and competitive level from start to finish.

The final victory went to the German team Black Knight, who showed impressive consistency and composure in defending their lead from the early days of the event. They finished with just a one-point advantage over the Australians of Finport Finance, who fought hard throughout the week.

The other Australian team, Yandoo, claimed third place thanks to solid performances, especially in the windier races.

Circolo Vela Arco once again proved to be an ideal venue for top-level international regattas, with flawless organization both on and off the water, supported by the reliable and renowned conditions of Lake Garda - a true reference point for high-performance sailing.
