Zhik and the German Sailing Team announce a new partnership, as the innovative Australian performance apparel brand becomes exclusive Technical Apparel Partner of the German Sailing Team and the German Sailing Association (DSV).
The partnership will include providing gear for the DSVs elite athletes and wider team through to the Los Angeles Olympic Games, combining high-performance innovation with sustainability and purpose.
Mona Küppers, President of the German Sailing Association, commented: "Zhik has been a favourite among our athletes for years, with gear that stands up to the toughest conditions, and a commitment to thoughtful, sustainable production that aligns perfectly with our values. With Zhik on board, we're well-equipped for the coming years on our path to the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles."
Additionally, Zhik will work with the DSV during this period to help promote and support sailing as a sport, across the nation.
Zhik CEO Mathew Belcher, double Olympic Gold Medallist, added: "As an Olympian, I know the edge world-class gear can give. As CEO, I'm proud that Zhik is supporting the German Sailing Team as they push for the Olympic games in LA 2028, and I'm very proud of our relationship with the DSV beyond the Olympic team too, supporting sailing across Germany as a whole."
"From Olympic dinghy classes to offshore campaigns, Zhik's gear is built to perform at the most elite level. We're already developing next-gen kit with Philipp Buhl and Richard Schultheis, this is where innovation starts, and it doesn't stop until it reaches every sailor."
Peter Frisch GmbH, a well-established name in German sailing is Zhik's official distributor in Germany. Zhik and Frisch have worked together successfully for many years, building a strong foundation, shared expertise and commitment to high-performance sailing.
Hubertus Jürgens, Managing Director of Peter Frisch GmbH, said: "As a distributor driven by innovation and a deep passion for sailing, we've been outfitting elite teams for decades. This step strengthens Olympic sailing in Germany by equipping the national team with high-performance gear built for the future. With Zhik, the German Sailing Team as well as the German Sailing Association, gains access to world-class technology - and we're committed to bringing that same level of technical excellence to passionate sailors everywhere in Germany."
Zhik puts sustainability at the heart of its innovation, from sourcing eco-conscious materials to rethinking product life cycles. This includes the use of Yulex®, a natural rubber alternative to neoprene, in its wetsuits, and the launch of ReZHIKle, a recycling program that gives old wetsuits a second life. The Australian brand is also leading the way in women's performance gear, offering the most extensive range on the market, including a groundbreaking new women's wetsuit collection launched last year.
