There is now a little over a fortnight to go until the Squib Class returns to the Royal Torbay Yacht Club for the National Championships on the 22nd of June.

The class were last in Torbay in 2019 when Nigel and Jack Grogan came out on top. They will both be competing again this year, but for the first time at the Nationals, against each other!

With 45 current entries from all corners of the UK and Ireland, competitors are looking forward to competing at this internationally renowned sailing venue, which offers quick and easy access from the sheltered harbour to the race area.

With eight races scheduled over five days, and with a full and lively social programme, competitors can be assured of a great week on the English Riviera. Torbay can be shifty and tricky but the prospect of champagne sailing in warm June weather with perfect sea breezes has made the class extremely excited to return.

With a highly competitive fleet featuring many past national Squib champions and champions from other classes, including current holders Micky Wright and Alex Porteous in Spoof making this an event not to be missed!

The class are extremely fortunate to have the support of many sponsors:

  • Robline Ropes UK
  • Hyde Sails
  • Batt Sails
  • Seasure
  • Holt
  • Harken
  • Stitch and Print
  • Westaway Sails

These fantastic supporters have made sure the class have a fabulous array of prizes from bags and blocks to halyards and tiller extensions which will be cascaded throughout the fleet at the daily prize-givings!

It is still not too late to enter what will be a fantastic championship. Supporters and fans will be able to follow the results and daily reports
