Innaugural Windies Multihull Trophy winners announced

With the conclusion of the 2025 season, the Caribbean Sailing Association's Budget Marine Windies Multihull Trophy results are in!

Thirty multihulls competed across eighteen events from Barbados to the British Virgin Islands and including the iconic RORC Caribbean 600. Multihulls could sail in any of the events with their best 5 scores counting. Scores are weighted depending on the entries in each division in each race and regatta.

In the over 60 foot (18metres) class Layla won. A new Gunboat with a flybridge, Andrew Nisbet and his crew sailed well in the Caribbean Multihull Challenge, the around Tortola Race and the BVI Spring Regatta. Selika came second and Lee Overlay Partners third.

In the under 60' class many more entries across all events saw tough competition. Georges Coutu's Leopard 50, La Novia, a division 2 entry in their regattas had a strong performance to win overall. The ORC 50's Malolo and Calamity took second and third respectively.

The Leopard 47, Spirit of Everest from Grenada took fourth and the three stalwarts MG5, Oceans Tribute and Triple Jack ended fifth on equal points. Oceans Tribute breaking the tie having sailed in 4 events.

In all, 30 multihulls raced across the season's events.

Robbie Ferron, Budget Marine's founder and sponsor of the Windies Multihull Trophy said: "This first season of the Budget Marine Windies Multihull Trophy shows the strength of multihull racing in the Caribbean. I congratulate the seasons winners, we will proudly award the 2025 Trophy at a ceremony at the 2026 Caribbean Multihull Challenge".

The President of the Caribbean Sailng Association, Bastien Pouthier said: "The CSA is committed to supporting a thriving multihull racing scene. With multihulls as diverse the 72' Gunboat, to the 24' Corsair trimaran, the 46 year old Triple Jack to the brand new Rapido 40 Spike we had a great fleet. We look forward to the 2026 fleet being even stronger!

The 2025 fleet: Layla, Selika, Lee Overlay Partners, La Novia, Malolo, Calamity, Spirit of Everest, Oceans Tribute,MG5/Dazeilad,Triple Jack, Little Wing, Airgasm, Ting A Ling II, Picomole, Avel Vaez, Spike, Perros-GuirecAveva, Sula Bassana, Seaduction, Temperance, Thunder and Lightning, Tiana, Baga Jaga,Timbalero 3, Honey Badger 2, Catalyst, Bella Giornata, Akua Aminata, Ting a Ling.

The CSA would like to thank Guy Chester for originating the idea of the trophy along with David Walworth for working on the results throughout the season as well as the rest of the CSA Multihull Committee.
