The second event of the 2025 Cape 31 Med Circuit wrapped up in spectacular style in Porquerolles, delivering four days of competitive racing in stunning Mediterranean conditions. Sixteen teams from twelve nations battled it out, with new faces shaking up the leaderboard and showing the growing depth of the international fleet.

The regatta opened with light and tricky conditions, but that didn't stop newcomers from making waves. Firstings (POR) made an instant impact, winning the first race of their first-ever Cape 31 event. Day 2 brought more breeze and three races with three different winners — Kalantis, La Pericolosa, and Black Seal — while MeerBlick, chartered by Cape 31 newcomer Nikolai Burkart, quietly rose to the top of the overall standings.

Saturday (Day 3) saw two races in light air. Give Me Five took Race 5 with a brilliant tactical call, while MeerBlick won Race 6 after a fierce duel with Firstings, further cementing their lead heading into the final day.

Final Day — Firstings Bookend, MeerBlick Triumphs

With just one race sailed on the final day due to fading wind, it was Firstings who closed the regatta the way they started — with another race win. The Portuguese team has made a statement in their debut, showing strong pace and composure.

Stella Maris (AUT) took second place in the race, moving them into third overall, while Black Seal grabbed their second podium of the event.

The final standings saw MeerBlick, sailed by Nikolai Burkart and his team, claim the overall win — an incredible feat for an owner who had never sailed a Cape 31 before this weekend.

"It's just unimaginable that we decided to do this event a few weeks ago and we have won overall. A dream! We will definitely see the class again this season — hopefully in Palma," said Burkart after the victory."

With the leaderboard shaken and momentum building, all eyes now turn to Round 3 in Sanremo, 27-29 June, where the Cape 31 Med Circuit continues.
