Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy at Yacht Club Costa Smeralda - Overall

by Southern Wind Yachts 1 Jun 10:54 PDT 27-31 May 2025

The horn sounded right on time for the fourth day of the Southern Wind Rendezvous and Trophy.

Blue skies, warm sun, and 6-7 knots of breeze with gusts up to 10 knots accompanied the fleet on a 15-mile course rounding Monaci and Secca Tre Monti, concluding with a long upwind leg through the Bisce Pass and back to the finish line in front of Porto Cervo.

SW96 Sorceress and SW96 Ammonite had a thrilling ride, chasing each other all the way to the end with some impressive tactical moves. Sorceress crossed the line just 16 seconds ahead of Ammonite, with both yachts and their crews receiving a loud musical "congratulations" from the Southern Wind RIB team. SW96 Nyumba sailed happily over the line with a cheerful crew, followed by SW100 Agapi Mas, the family boat par excellence.

SW94 Magic Blue had a magnificent race, crossing the finish line first in the Corinthian Class, just ahead of SW108 Gelliceaux, which scored first place in the final results for this division, followed by SW94 Magic Blue, SW82 Grande Orazio, SW100 Grillo Parlante, and SW105 Sorvind by Giorgio Armani.

The latter sailed a perfect course today, and we sincerely thank the yacht's captain and crew for their tireless efforts in offering Giorgio Armani and his guests a unique experience of sailing and passion over these four amazing days.

In the Superyacht Class, RP-Nauta 100 Morgana, with her crew of men in green, sailed a fantastic regatta and came second over the line. Overall results for the class place RP-Nauta 100 Morgana third and SW96 Liberty fourth.

The day and the 2025 edition of the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta and Southern Wind Rendezvous & Trophy came to a close with the prize-giving ceremony in Piazza Azzurra, where final beers were raised and goodbyes exchanged.

The winning owner of SW108 Gelliceaux took the microphone with a happy voice and reminded us all that this sailing event is second to none for its inclusive ambiance, bringing together crews, owners, and organizers. He concluded with, "We will come back!"

The Southern Wind team thanks everyone for joining us in Porto Cervo—for the magnificent sailing of your yachts, for the fun, the laughter, the parties, and for simply enjoying the sun and sea.

Southern Wind looks forward to seeing you all again in a year's time.
