The Snipe Class International Racing Association (SCIRA) is seeking applicants for a part-time Executive Director position. This position will provide administrative and financial services to the SCIRA Board, and will serve as a primary point of contact for the National Secretaries of each member country.

SCIRA is seeking to fill this role starting in October 2025. If interested in this position, please send your resume to by July 15, 2025.

The Snipe is a two-person dinghy designed in 1931 and spread across five continents, with about 2,000 active boats competing and 32,000 sail numbers assigned since its foundation.

It is governed by an 8-person Board of Governors, whose members include the non-voting Executive Director, and is technically managed by a separate Technical Committee.

The class is organized into fleets at local level, reporting to national secretariats, which are grouped into continental secretariats. More than 200 fleets are currently active in about 30 nations. The nations with the largest number of members are Japan, the USA, Spain, Brazil and Italy.

The motto of the Class is "serious sailing, serious fun" and derives from the high level of the competitions and the great friendship and conviviality that characterizes the regattas, at all levels.

Racing activity ranges from local regattas to the highest levels of continental and world championships and includes senior, junior, masters and women's events. Events are both selection-based according to criteria of spread in individual countries and open, with no distinction by gender at the absolute level.

The Class is recognized by World Sailing and adopts Class Rules according to criteria established by the international sailing federation.
