Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta 2025 - Day 3

by Yacht Club Costa Smeralda 30 May 09:32 PDT 27-31 May 2025

The forecast of very light winds proved to be accurate today as the starting procedure for the third day of the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta and the Southern Wind RendezVous got under way.

The Race Committee, led by Principal Race Officer Ariane Mainemare, hoisted the AP flag on the Committee Boat to signal a postponed start, carefully monitoring the breeze in the hope of conditions improving, and keeping competitors continuously informed. At 2 p.m. CEST, with light and unstable conditions persisting, AP over Alpha was hoisted, officially indicating the abandonment of racing for the day.

Several of the Southern Wind yachts headed to Cala Coticcio, on the island of Caprera, where they anchored and spent a few enjoyable hours.

Tonight, participants will attend the Sunset Beach Party at Lunaria Beach in Baia Sardinia from 7.30 p.m.

Tomorrow 31 May, the final day of the event, the starting procedure will begin at 11.30 a.m. CEST for the boats taking part in the Southern Wind RendezVous. The starting sequence for the Giorgio Armani Superyacht Regatta will begin at 12 noon CEST. The event will conclude with the prize-giving ceremony in Piazza Azzurra, in front of the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda.
