Hugely successful Royal Escape Race 2025

The 2025 Royal Escape Race has come to an end, and what a Bank Holiday weekend it was. From the bustling shores of Shoreham to the welcoming finish in Fécamp, this year's race brought together everything we love about offshore sailing: endurance, strategy, determination, and community.

Crews faced challenging conditions across the 75-nautical mile crossing of the English Channel. Whether battling tides or trimming sails under pressure, every entrant contributed to what has been an exciting, emotional, and unforgettable race.

There was support from both sides of the Channel, cheers from Brighton and Shoreham, and a warm reception from our friends at Société des Régates de Fécamp. This year's event reminded us once again why the Royal Escape Race continues to hold its place as a key date in the UK sailing calendar.

The Celebration Continues

The race may be over, but the festivities are not. We're delighted to invite all competitors, supporters, families, and friends to the 2025 Royal Escape Race prize-giving.

Event Details:

  • Date: Saturday, 14th June 2025
  • Location: Stow's Restaurant

The prize-giving is more than just an awards ceremony. It's an evening to reflect on the race, reconnect with your fellow sailors, and celebrate the incredible effort, teamwork, and sportsmanship shown throughout the event. Awards will be presented across all race classes, and the night will bring together everyone who played a part in making this year's race a success.

Come to the 2025 Royal Escape Race Prize-giving to:

  • Celebrate the accomplishments of all competitors
  • Reconnect with fellow sailors and race supporters
  • Share stories, laughter, and reflections from the water
  • Be part of a tradition that continues to grow and inspire
Whether you were first across the line or simply proud to have completed the crossing, the prize-giving is your moment to celebrate. We look forward to seeing many familiar faces there and bringing the 2025 Royal Escape Race to a close in true Sussex Yacht Club style.
