Tina Roberts has beautifully restored Ragtime Sailing in honour of her late partner’s wishes, choosing Doyle Sails not only for the world-class sails but for the depth of experience, personal commitment, and collaborative support that define the team.
With every project, it's more than just technology—it's trusted expertise and a shared passion for excellence on the water.
The yacht now features an all-new Doyle Sails inventory, designed by Richard Bouzaid with significant input from Stu Bannatyne.
The sails are built to the highest Grand Prix standards, with Stratis 1100, in New Zealand, with the final assembly being completed at Doyle Sails Newport in Rhode Island under the watchful eye of Grand Prix Project Manager, Paul Tingle.
The striking black sails perfectly complement Ragtime’s classic hull.
Given Ragtime’s relatively modest form stability compared to modern yachts, special care was taken in both sail design and handling systems.
Notably, all downwind sails are asymmetrical and flown from a pole rather than a bowsprit.
“It’s been a really cool project to be involved with, and Tina and her team have done an amazing job,” said Bannatyne. “She’s now a really nice blend of retro and modern.”
