Grand Soleil Cup 2025 First Stage Recap

by Grand Soleil Yachts 27 May 04:42 PDT 23-25 May 2025

From May 23rd to 25th, 2025, the waters of the Argentario hosted the first stage of the 23rd edition of the Grand Soleil Cup.

Organized by Cantiere del Pardo in collaboration with the Circolo Nautico e della Vela Argentario and with the support of the Marina di Cala Galera, the event brought together around 40 Grand Soleil yachts, confirming itself as a must-attend gathering for the brand's international community.

During the awards ceremony, Marcello Veronesi, CEO of Cantiere del Pardo, and Marco Carletto, CEO of the Oniverse Group, reaffirmed the company's dedication to continuously investing in quality, in services for Grand Soleil owners, and in the design of new models—with the clear goal of pursuing excellence in the world of sailing.

The weekend kicked off on Friday, May 23rd with an elegant welcome cocktail on the CNVA Terrace—a perfect moment to greet the owners and their crews.

On Saturday, May 24th, the traditional coastal sailing event set course toward the Island of Giannutri. An initial breeze of 2-3 knots gave way to a thrilling Maestrale, which on the way back exceeded 20 knots, delivering true excitement and pure fun at sea.

Sunday, May 25th offered ideal weather: clear skies, summer sun and stable winds between 6 and 15 knots made for a technical and spectacular race, with a course around the buoys and a key tack near the Formiche di Grosseto. The day concluded with the awards ceremony on the dock and a celebratory cocktail to toast this successful edition together.

The first leg of the Grand Soleil Cup ended with the overall victory of Luduan 2.0, a Grand Soleil 48 owned by Enrico De Crescenzo, who took first place in the All Sails category. Congratulations to the entire crew for their passion, determination, and the outstanding result achieved on the water!

For the first time, the fleet saw four models of the new Grand Soleil LINEA PLUS line take to the water, representing Cantiere del Pardo's ongoing commitment to the evolution of its range:

  • Grand Soleil 72 Performance SHANTI
  • Grand Soleil 65 Performance RIBELLE, newly launched
  • Grand Soleil 65 Long Cruise MELIGUNIS
  • Grand Soleil 65 Long Cruise HALIMEDE

Also present was a strong fleet of Grand Soleil 44s—the model awarded "Boat of the Year"—with four units competing, further confirming the model's popularity among owners.

The event reinforced the international character of the Grand Soleil Cup, with owners and crews coming from Italy, France, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia, and even Japan.

A big thank you to all the owners and crews who took part and made this first event of the Grand Soleil Cup 2025 truly special. The excitement continues: see you from June 13th to 15th in Portopiccolo for the second stage of this year's edition!
