In 2025, The Chase Sailing Club reaches an extraordinary milestone: 70 years of sailing, community, and tradition. Since its founding in 1955, this beloved club has served as a hub for sailors of all backgrounds, bringing together generations of enthusiasts to share their love for the water.

To mark its platinum anniversary, The Chase Sailing Club is thrilled to announce a celebration like no other. On Saturday, 28th June 2025, the club will host the Platinum Pursuit 70/70 Challenge—a day of racing, festivities, and family fun that promises to be the highlight of the summer.

A Landmark Event: The Platinum Pursuit 70/70 Challenge

At the heart of the celebration is the largest summer pursuit race the club has ever hosted. Seventy boats will take to the water for a 2-hour pursuit race, beginning at 1:00 PM. This exciting format ensures that boats of all classes and skill levels can compete on equal footing, creating a dynamic and engaging spectacle for both participants and onlookers.

Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a casual weekend sailor, this race is an opportunity to be part of a unique and historic event. And for those not racing, the shoreside offers just as much excitement.

A Day for the Whole Family

The Platinum Pursuit isn't just about racing — it's a full-day celebration for sailors and their families. The club's scenic lakeside grounds will be alive with energy, offering a warm welcome to visitors of all ages.

Spectators are encouraged to join and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, complete with food, entertainment, and plenty of space to relax and soak in the summer spirit. The event is a fantastic opportunity for families to gather, reconnect, and celebrate everything that makes The Chase Sailing Club so special.

Evening Entertainment: BBQ and Live Music

As the sun sets, the celebration continues with a summer BBQ and a performance from local favourites, The Rattle Snakes. With a playlist spanning classic hits from the 1960s to today, the band will keep the energy high and the dance floor full well into the evening.

Great food, live music, and good company — what better way to toast to 70 years of sailing tradition?
