Get ready for three days of sailing in Tuscany's Gulf of Follonica, at the event hosted by Centro Velico Punta Ala A.S.D., in partnership with Formula 18 Class Italy and PuntAla Camp & Resort.

The 2025 sports season at Centro Velico Punta Ala opens in less than a month with the 17th edition of the unmissable F18 National Regatta.

The race draws top crews from all over Italy, made possible by the solid partnership between the Formula 18 Italia Class and PuntAla Camp & Resort, the event's logistical base and central hub.

It's no coincidence that Centro Velico Punta Ala made its debut as a race organizer back in 2004 with a double-hull catamaran event: the F18 World Championship. Since then, its relationship with both the Italian and International Formula 18 Class Associations has grown steadily stronger, establishing this regatta as a landmark on the national sailing calendar.

On the water, the best Italian crews will compete aboard 18-foot twin-hull catamarans in a fast, technical and spectacular race format—where the crew's talent and tactical skills are key. Punta Ala's regatta is the third of five national events scheduled for 2025 and will count towards the official season ranking. It's also considered by many as a warm-up for the F18 World Championship, to be held in July in Noordwijk, Netherlands.

Spectators will be able to enjoy the full show of the F18 catamarans flying over the waves with their colorful sails and smiling sailors, all set against the stunning natural stage of the Gulf of Follonica.

The regattas—up to nine over three days—will take place right in front of PuntAla Camp & Resort, on a race are facing the Island of Elba. The typical late-May conditions—steady thermal winds, flat sea, and mild climate—promise top-level technical races, ideal to showcase the performance of the F18 class.

As tradition has it, the heart of the event extends beyond the sea. A race village will be set up inside the resort, welcoming athletes, teams, staff, and guests beneath the shade of its fragrant pine forest—an open-air Olympic-style base where sport and relaxation meet in perfect harmony. For those on holiday, the spectacle will be fully visible from the beach, right in front of the Beach Bar. Onshore, the program features seaside happy hours, the traditional crew dinner, and a lively party at Trattoria da Camilla.

Those who have raced here before already know: sailing in Punta Ala is something truly special. A perfect balance of technique, adrenaline, scenery, and passion for the sea. The event is set for May 31 to June 2: don't miss the chance to be part of it.

The regatta is open to all F18 Class crews. For full details and to access the Notice of Race: www.centrovelicopuntaala.it/en/f18-national-2025. Foreign sailors wishing to enter the regatta are kindly asked to send an email to . The race office will handle your registration.

Centro Velico Punta Ala extends its sincere thanks to the Municipality of Castiglione della Pescaia and the Municipality of Scarlino, which granted official patronage to the event, and to local partner companies Ginanni Marcello Modellisti Calzature and New Living Scale for their valuable support.
