There is a new development at Dovestone Sailing Club, Radio Controlled model boat sailing. Starting with 5 people in November last year there are now over a dozen regular sailors.
Club members can use their model boats at any time on the reservoir but there is a very active racing series on Tuesday mornings from 10am to 1pm. There are often around 10 boats competing each morning in 8 short races.
All classes of model sailing boat are welcome, but the biggest fleet is the Dragonforce 95 (DF95) class. The club welcomes new members to join in with the racing. Just turn up on Tuesday morning at the sailing club at Dovestone Reservoir, about 9:30am, or contact the fleet captain, Nik Lever, for more information.
