The African Boating Conference, taking place on 21-22 October 2025, is proud to announce that Theo Loock, CEO of Robertson and Caine, South Africa's largest and one of the world's largest catamaran producers, will serve as a keynote speaker at the first-ever gathering of its kind on the continent.

Bringing together industry leaders, marine entrepreneurs, and boating enthusiasts, the two-day event will spotlight Africa's evolving marine market and the future of the global boating industry.

A respected industrial engineering and global manufacturing figure, Loock has played a pivotal role in guiding Robertson and Caine's transition from a family-owned business to a major worldwide market player. His address will provide key insights into Africa's standing within the global boating sector, highlighting market trends, opportunities for growth, and strategies to enhance innovation and sustainability. Loock's perspective underscores the continent's immense potential to become a leading hub for marine manufacturing and export as the African market continues its rise.

"I am honoured to be part of the African Boating Conference and to share insights on the dynamic marine industry in South Africa, Cape Town and our position in the World," said Loock. "Africa holds immense potential in the global boating sector, and by focusing on innovation, quality, and market-driven strategies, we can solidify our position as a leading hub for marine manufacturing and export."

This announcement coincides with a significant milestone for Robertson and Caine: the completion of its 3,000TH catamaran at the end of March. The award-winning vessel, the Leopard 40 Powercat, was launched at the Miami International Boat Show in 2023. The celebration of the launch of the 3000 th boat was showcased at the La Grande Motte International Boat Show in the south of France. Founded 34 years ago, Robertson and Caine employ more than 2,400 team members, many of whom have been with the company since its inception and is responsible for building 200 out of the 300 catamarans produced in South Africa in 2024.

"Reaching this incredible milestone is a testament to the dedication, innovation, and craftsmanship that define the Robertson and Caine One Team," said Loock. "Since our founding, we have remained committed to designing and building world-class catamarans that inspire adventure and push the boundaries of performance, comfort, and sustainability. This achievement reflects the trust and passion of our global sailing community, and we are immensely proud of the impact our vessels have had on sailors and charterers worldwide. As we look ahead, we remain focused on delivering excellence and shaping the marine industry's future."

The African Boating Conference will serve as a platform for key stakeholders in the maritime industry to explore investment opportunities, discuss regulatory advancements, and examine the latest technological developments. Loock's keynote is expected to underscore the importance of elevating African manufacturing globally and will set the tone for a new era of collaboration and innovation in the continent's boating sector.
