Today marks the start of the Dragon Cup at Vilamoura Sailing, running from 24 to 27 April, welcoming 25 boats from across the world. This regatta offers top-level competition and serves as an essential training opportunity for many of the teams preparing for the Dragon World Championship, which will take place in Vilamoura from 10 to 17 May, following the official warm-up event scheduled for 5 to 8 May.

With its world-class conditions and exceptional race management, Vilamoura continues to prove why it's the training ground of choice for elite sailors. The Dragon Cup is no exception, delivering high-quality racing just weeks before the most anticipated event of the season.

Onshore, the Club House at Vilamoura Sailing is in full swing, providing excellent food & beverage support, including customised lunch packs tailored to sailors' needs and a high-standard service that ensures the overall experience is as memorable ashore as it is on the water.

"We are thrilled to welcome the Dragon Class back to Vilamoura. The Dragon Cup is more than just a regatta — it's a celebration of sailing excellence and a key milestone as we gear up for the World Championship. Our team is fully committed to delivering an exceptional experience, both on the water and ashore," said Nuno Reis, CEO of Vilamoura Sailing.

With the stage now set, all eyes turn to the bay of Vilamoura as the Dragon Cup gets under way.

Results will be posted here.
