ILCA 6 Youth European Championship 2025 at Vilamoura Sailing - Overall

by Prow Media 19 Apr 11:09 PDT 14-16 April 2025

The ILCA 6 Youth European Championship came to a close today after six days of high-level competition and world-class performances in Vilamoura.

The final day presented challenging and shifty conditions due to cloud cover, with the wind initially coming from the northwest. As the day progressed, the breeze stabilised between 15-17 knots, with gusts reaching up to 20 knots, delivering a dynamic and thrilling atmosphere for the concluding races.

With medals on the line, sailors displayed outstanding tactical decision-making and resilience on the water.

Reflecting on the championship, Vilamoura Sailing CEO Nuno Reis commented:

"Hosting the ILCA 6 Youth European Championship has been a great honour for Vilamoura Sailing. This week showcased not only the extraordinary talent of these young athletes but also the commitment of our team and partners in delivering a top-level event. Vilamoura Sailing and Prow Group are proud to continue shaping the future of sailing."

As the curtain falls on this edition, the event leaves behind memorable moments, inspiring performances, and a strong sense of community among the nations represented.
