There's still time to join more than 60 boats already signed up for the Magic Marine Daffodil Regatta, which takes place at Ullswater Yacht Club on the weekend of 26 & 27 April.

The event, which kicks off this season's Sailjuice Challenge, will include the Musto Skiff Northern Champs, the RS200 Northern Champs, as well as class racing for VX Ones and OKs. There will be handicap racing for other dinghies, keelboats and cruisers.

This year's Sailjuice Challenge is pulling together some established multiclass events into a traveller's series, in much the same way as the Selden Sailjuice Winter Series has done over the past 16 years.

Ullswater is a contender for the most beautiful lake in the country, and Ullswater Yacht Club is known for putting on great events. In addition to the classes mentioned above, the 29er and Snipe (13 entries) are also targeting the Daffodil Regatta as a good event for people to come together and enjoy well-organised racing and cracking social events in a spectacular setting.

If you've never sailed in the Lake District, spring time in April is your ideal opportunity.

The regatta is being supported by Magic Marine who are making a big push into UK dinghy racing. Magic Marine will be showcasing their new range of harnesses at the Daffodil. These harnesses are the first on the market to be officially approved under the new ISO standard for quick release systems - a development strongly recommended by World Sailing.

More events are coming up in the Sailjuice Challenge this summer. For further information about how to get involved, either as a participating Class or a host Sailing Club, please contact Simon Lovesey, email
