Sail Canada 2026 Championships bids open

Sail Canada is excited to announce that the 2026 Regional and National Championships bids are now open!

Sail Canada's Championships provide an opportunity for sailors to train and compete with sailors in their region and at the national level. The goals of these championships are to:

  • Provide opportunities for development of competitive sailors, through valuable training & racing experiences;
  • Provide development and mentoring opportunities to coaches;
  • Deliver training and development opportunities for officials and volunteers;
  • Build legacy in the host region for future event hosting through development of officials, volunteers, venues & local resources;
  • Serve as a talent identification opportunity for regional and provincial sailing teams.
Member Clubs & Organizations interested in hosting a Sail Canada Championship are asked to complete the Sail Canada Championship Hosting Online Form.

Deadline to submit applications to host 2026 Sail Canada Championships is May 15th, 2025.

Sail Canada's Regional and National Championships schedule for 2025 is:

  • July 17-20: Sail West, Sail Central and Sail East
  • August 1-5: Youth Fest (ILCA 4, 6, 29er, WASZP, IQ Foil, Wing Foil) and Youth Championship (Club 420)
  • August 8-10: Senior Championships (Formula Kite)
  • August 21-24: Youth Championships (ILCA 4, 6, 29er) and Senior Championships (49er/49er FX)
  • October 3-5: Senior Championships (ILCA 6 & ILCA 7)
