Cascais is set to host the highly anticipated inaugural J/70 Corinthian European Championship from April 1st to April 6th, 2025. Organized by the Clube Naval de Cascais (CNC), the event will bring together over 50 international teams to compete in one of the world's top sailing venues, known for its epic waves and breeze.

With the J/70 class continuing its growth in all areas, the introduction of a Corinthian European Championship marks a significant milestone. The success of the Corinthian World Championships in Garda and Copenhagen showcased the strength and demand of the class, and Cascais promises another highlight event in an already stacked J/70 racing calendar.

A Strong British Contingent Set to Compete

Amongst the seven UK teams heading to Cascais, DSP will be looking to put in a strong performance, having been a regular on the UK's Grand Slam podium. They will be joined by Sardonyx, Escape, Woof!, Offbeat, Cosmic, and Powder Monkey, all regulars on the UK circuit. Many of these teams will know their way around Cascais by now, following frequent trips for the growing Cascais Winter Series.

Teams are flying in from around the world for this showcase of Corinthian J/70 talent, with notable entries including Doug Rastello's Good to Go from the USA, winners of the European Championship when the UK hosted in Weymouth 2023. Another one to watch is the Italian team White Hawk, who claimed victory at the Corinthian Worlds in Garda 2023. Also on the podium in Garda was Sam Haines' Celestial from Australia, who will be among the mix in Cascais.

The UK teams will be looking to make their mark in this competitive fleet, and the stage is set for an intense and spectacular 5 days of racing in Cascais. Following a practice race on the 2nd, racing kicks off on April 3rd.
