New opportunity ahead! EUROSAF announces European Championships in League Sailing

The European Sailing Federation has just announced new a European Championship regatta in League Sailing format taking place from May 30th to June 1st in Punat, Croatia with up to 27 teams on the starting line.

As part of the continued development of the league sailing format, ISLA has partnered with EUROSAF and in2theblue sailing to support and promote this exciting initiative. The event comes as another fantastic opportunity for all the sailing clubs to compete at an international level against top teams from across Europe. A total of 27 teams from all European countries will be invited to participate. Short races around 15 minutes each, umpired fleet racing, three days of racing, and one design J70 boats provided by organisers are the key factors for this Championship organised in Croatia.

Punat, located on the beautiful island of Krk, is one of Croatia's sailing jewels. Known for its crystal-clear waters, reliable winds and stunning coastal scenery, it offers ideal conditions for high-level racing in almost-guaranteed sailing weather. The venue's welcoming atmosphere and excellent marina facilities make it a perfect setting for an unforgettable event.

Event is supported by ISLA - international Sailing League Association - the global authority for national league sailing, promoting competitive sailing worldwide. It supports national leagues with a strict rulebook, event organization, and development tools, ensuring vibrant competition from top-tier to club-level sailors. Founded in 2016, ISLA is the important authority for the Sailing Champions League with 16 National Sailing Leagues from Europe, Australia and USA as members of the Association.

The European Championships in League Sailing will consist of three emotion-packed racing days with a practice day before the main event. The attractive entry fee is 1200 EUR per team, including daily breakfasts, lunches and three social evening events with live music. All teams interested in joining the event are encouraged to contact the organizers directly.
