The International J/70 Class Association is proud to announce Annapolis Yacht Club (AYC) as the host of the 2027 J/70 World Championship.

The Class and AYC have a rich history of collaboration, including the hosting of two J/70 North American Championships.

The first and largest NAC saw 90 boats on the line in 2013. The 2027 Worlds will take place during the peak fall season on the Chesapeake Bay of October 23-30.

The International J/70 Class has grown to more than 30 member countries since it hit the scene just over a decade ago. Qualified entrants from around the globe will descend on Annapolis, not only in autumn 2027, but also for the 2026 North American Championship from October 27-November 1.

Annapolis is home to J/70 US Fleet #1, and local sailors are more than excited to host two major Championships. "We are thrilled to welcome our J/70 friends from around the world to America's Sailing Capital," Championship co-chairs Katja Sertl and Allan Terhune noted. "Fleet 1 and Annapolis Yacht Club are honored to host this incredible event. Nothing beats fall sailing on the Chesapeake!"
