Mustang Survival, the global leader in maritime safety equipment, continues to set the standard for innovation with the launch of its ISO-approved Atlas 190 DLX Hammar Life Jacket.

Following the overwhelmingly successful UK debut of the Atlas platform (with Pro Sensor inflator) in 2024, the multi-award-winning Atlas with Hammar inflator is now available online and in retailers across North America and the UK.

Recipient of TIME's Best Invention, a Red Dot Award for product design, the Miami Innovation Award, and a Special Mention at the DAME Design Awards, the Atlas 190 Life Jacket is a game-changer. This ground-breaking inflatable platform with a re-engineered bladder for superior turning performance and airway protection sets a new benchmark for safety and comfort in offshore sailing, cruising, and boating.

The Atlas boasts 42 lbs of buoyancy and utilizes ADAPT Technology (Advanced Airway Protection & Turning), with bladder lobes shaped to turn the wearer face up effectively, baffle barriers near the chin to dissipate incoming waves to the face, a wide pillow to provide greater stability for user's head, and dogleg design for improved in-water comfort and stability.

"The primary goal was to make it super comfortable," explains Nigel Parkes, the developer of the Atlas. "I wanted to design a product that is very free around the neck when worn in its packed state but still offers ultimate performance when inflated. The secondary goal was to challenge conventional bladder designs and increase the safety features without impacting comfort, resulting in a revolutionary new design. Our wearers can have confidence in knowing that whatever their water adventure, the Atlas 190 has their back should they need it."

Additional safety features include an integrated sprayhood, and a SOLAS-approved water-activated light. It has built in compatibility for AIS and PLB and features the Hammar MA1 automatic inflator with hydrostatic technology which protects against unintended activation due to rain, spray, or humidity.

Jonathan Liu, Product Manager Flotation, adds: "The new Atlas doesn't compromise—on anything. We listened to feedback on the barriers that keep people from wearing life vests and used it to create this one. This life jacket gives you peace of mind to do whatever you need and want. With the comfort the Atlas brings, there's no excuse for not wearing a PFD ever again."

Product pricing and options:

  • Retail Price: $369.99 USD / $449.99 CAD / £260 GBP
  • Colour: black and red-black
  • Size: universal adult
