Vendée Globe Tuesday 28th January Update - A La Rochelle welcome for Benjamin & Clarisse

by Mark Jardine 28 Jan 00:31 PST 28 January 2025

La Rochelle welcomed Vendée Globe finishers Benjamin Dutreux and Clarisse Crémer with open arms after they couldn't enter the channel at Les Sables d'Olonne due to rough seas.

We take a look at the scenes and hear from Clarisse Cremer on the shore.

We then hear from Boris Herrmann, as both he and Sam Davies try to pass Cape Finisterre in a small lull between the storms.

We bring you updates from them, and then Kojiro Shiraishi at the equator and Violette Dorange making a delicious dinner at sunset.

We then look at the Tracker, Leaderboard and PredictWind routing options for Romain Attanasio in 14th.

We conclude with updates from Kojiro Shiraishi in a lumpy sea in the North Atlantic and Oliver Heer from half way up the mast.
